Summer time fun at Knott’s Berry Farm *Giveaway*

There is no better time to enjoy Southern California weather like there is in the summer time! The weather is perfect for spending time outdoors. I love combining fun with history don’t you? What better place is there to enjoy the summer time sun than at an important California’s history fixture – our very first amusement park Knotts Berry Farm?

Did you know that Knott’s Berry Farm is special to Southern California history? As many of you know, Knott’s Berry Farm started off as a berry farm in the 1920’s by Walter and Cordelia Knott. However, did you know that Mrs. Knott served eight of her now infamous fried chicken dinners on her wedding china for only $0.65 each to help end meet during the depression? The dinners became a fast and popular hit and to entertain the waiting Chicken Dinner restaurant patrons, Mr. Knott created the Ghost Town in the 1940’s. Mrs. Knott’s friend chicken dinner restaurant now serves more than 1. 5 million guests each year, and is the largest full-service restaurant that serves chicken as its main course. It’s safe to say that Mrs. Knott’s famous fried chicken dinners was the gateway to the very first amusement park!

  1. Linus! He reminds me of my nephew who has a blue blankie, sucks his thumb and has similar logic (explains things very precisely).
The kids area at Knott’s is AMAZING fun as is the old train and the stagecoach! Even if you don’t win passes, you should go!!!

  2. I love Woodstock because he wins the river rafting race! As a child my parents bought me a stuffed Woodstock and one day he got left outside and it rained. I will never forgot finding him all wet and ruined.

  3. LUCY of course! She’s an obnoxious, abrasive, outspoken brat and I love that about her. You know there is a wee bit of Lucy in me. I love that picture of us up there. Hope the sleep deprivation isn’t warping you too badly. By the way, after our Knott’s Brunch adventure, I went back and had a chicken dinner at Mrs. Knotts another day – it was so delicious!!

  4. Oh no! I forgot to say why….can you please delete my other comment? I like Snoopy b/c I used to watch with my dad all of the time….Our fav. film was Snoopy Come Home

  5. Snoopy b/c he is the cutest and most ❤ loving ❤ Doggie he is Funny and a great friend. Cute cartoon all together we love it.~ we never been to Knott’s Berry Farm our kids would love to go and us big kids too 😉 ❤

  6. I love Marcie! She is quiet and studious, slow to anger but can lose her temper when she is pushed too far. Oh and she wore glasses, is it me or does anyone else think she looks like Billie Jean King?

  7. My favorite Peanuts character is Snoopy! I love him because of his human-like personality, silly laugh, and funny antics. When I was a child I had a Snoopy doll you could dress in authentic Snoopy clothes purchased from Hallmark, and I also had a Snoopy watch. How could anyone not like Snoopy? : )
